Hello, we're Frank and Virginia Millar, outfitters and owners of Millar Ranch. We welcome you to Central Texas and our hunting preserve. We always look forward to seeing old friends and greeting new ones. We'll do everything possible to make your time at Millar Ranch an outstanding experience........

Welcome to Millar Ranch, a quality hunt experience— 1000 private acres of rolling hills, of 100-year live oak trees, oak motts, open pasture, an abundance of mesquite underbrush, algerita and cactus plants in the center of Texas. Millar Ranch is prime trophy hunt land– cover and home to the finest in exotics, plentiful Rio Grande turkey, whitetail deer and more. It has been featured in Bowhunting.net and on DiskNet TV Men’s Channel programming. The ranch is located on the famed Edwards Plateau, a short drive east of San Angelo.

Owner Frank Millar knows the elements and importance of a quality hunt experience. Years of hands-on knowledge, stemming from being a sportsman and entrepreneurial business experience have positioned him to deliver extreme customer satisfaction to guests in their hunt experience at Millar Ranch.

Experience the difference— Millar Ranch hunts are individually created to suit your needs. The environment is as challenging as the game is wary, yet our hunter’s success rate is 100%. The ranch is a privately owned and operated hunting preserve with hunt pressure and harvest carefully controlled. All hunts are professionally guided and you choose the way you want to hunt– rifle, muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun, bow– spot and stalk, safari, from a ground blind, or rattling– whatever presents the best personal challenge and hunting experience for you. In the words of Roy Keefer, noted bow hunter and writer, “…what a hunt we had at the Millar Ranch… one of the most enjoyable hunting experiences of my life”.

Your trophy waits— Hunt year-round for outstanding exotics and enjoy seasonal hunts for natives. The thrill of harvesting a quality Axis, a Blackbuck Antelope, Scimitar Horn Oryx, Sika-DyBowski, Fallow Deer, Black Hawaiian, Mouflon, Corsican/Barbadoe or Corsican Sheep, or Texas Dall Sheep. We will also arrange for other exotics not presently on the ranch for your personal hunt, with sufficient advance notice. Our Rio Grande Gobbler hunts are legendary and will far exceed your expectations. Millar Ranch has managed quality Whitetail Deer, but we also have leased area access to lands close-by to schedule your hunt for fantastic true-trophy whitetail hunting.

Not just for hunters— Millar Ranch has photo safaris and lay back and relax opportunities for non-hunters. You may even catch a shot of a rare Barasingha, seldom seen elsewhere. Excellent food and beverages are custom selected to your liking, and then there are those West Texas sunsets. There’s no prettier way to end the day. Often non-hunting wives will accompany their hunter into a blind to shoot game photos. Future plans call for organized canoe and kayak adventures.

Side-trips can be taken to the town of Eden, which features Concho Springs Golf Course. Eden is 18.5 miles east-northeast of the geodetic center of Texas and is known as “the garden of Texas” by locals.

A bit further away, yet still close, is historic Paint Rock, a town named for the extensive Native American pictographs found on the bluffs of the Concho River. Tours are available. Crafts shops can also be found at Paint Rock.

The Presidio de San Saba, a Spanish fort on the 18th century Texas frontier, ranking in importance with the Alamo, can be visited near Menard. A scientific excavation of artifacts and the remaining structure is currently in progress.

Getting there— Millar Ranch, near Eden, TX, is a 45-minute drive from San Angelo. San Angelo is conveniently served by major airlines. A private airport with paved runway lies 16-miles away and a local airstrip is within a mile. Millar Ranch staff will meet you at any of these locations and provide transportation to the ranch when desired.
